Sr. Motion Designer

Reactiv is seeking a FULL-TIME Motion Designer to work from our Toronto studio.

The Sr. Motion Designer works closely with the Creative Director and Producer to develop and execute visceral and emotionally aressting visuals on time and on budget, while providing mentorship and support to a team of 1-3 Jr. Artists and Assistants.

A creative and technical wizard, the ideal candidate is a 2D & 3D animator and designer who is passionate about both ART and TECHNOLOGY. This position calls for an excellent expertise in art direction, 2D and 3D animation workflows, and a well-rounded understanding of compositing and video post-production.

Technical Requirements

  • A great eye for design, composition, motion, and colour.
  • Expert understanding of After Effects and intermediate experience with Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
  • Advanced Cinema 4D mograph experience including modeling, animation, dynamics, shading, lighting, and rendering. (character rigging/animation and simulation/particles are a plus)
  • Advanced experience with GPU renderers such as Octane and/or Redshift (understanding of Unity and Unreal would be an asset, but not required)
  • Advanced understanding of 3D compositing
  • Advanced understanding of digital video and audio file formats including codecs and compression/coding.
  • Advanced knowledge of both Mac and PC based workstations.
  • Ability to estimate time accurately and adhere to schedules and deadlines
  • Experience working within a team mentoring Jr. Artists

Additional Details

  • Salary: $55,000 - $75,000 commensurate to the level of experience
